I'm 17 weeks Pregnant. My second ultrasound which will determine my babies sex is not 'till another 2 wks. But I'm already eager to know! I've heard that if its a boy his heart should beat faster and stronger then if it were a girl. Is that a fact or just a myth?

It's an old wives' tale, sorry! I've had three boys, and two of them had "faster" hearbeats so I was sure they were girls - no dice. The Chinese Gender predictor failed for them too.

Just a myth! The heart beat is very fast for both boys and girls at 17 weeks. Just try to be patient and wait for your ultrasound! Good luck!

That is an old wives tale, but the tale actually goes that if the heart rate is above 140 its a girl, below 140 its a boy. Either way, its not a good indicator. Hey, try that chinese birth calander before hand to see if its accurate. I've had tons of people swear to me that it is, but I'm still skeptical.
The old wives tales can be fun though.

Myth...my friend and I both pregnant at the same time. She was pregnant with a girl and I was pregnant with a boy...both heart beats were in the 150's.

Supposedly the heartrate will be fast for a girl, slow for a boy. The ultrasound tech that did my 3D pictures SWEARS that it's true - she said you'd be surprised how often it's true. I find it hard to believe though. Anyway, I'm having a boy and his heartrate is always in the 150s.

its the other way around a little girls heart rate is faster which in my case was true, my daughters was high up like 170 or something maybe a little lower and now my sons is 140 or a little less.
It may be a myth but in my pregnancies it worked!

not entirly sure but my babys heartbeat sounded exactly like a train even the same paste as train and i am having a boy(and am 36weeks pregnant)

its just a myth... sorry!! i know the wait sucks when you really want to know what youre having.
but if you want to go by me my babys bpm is 143 and hes a boy...
