Mine has to be the slug. I just stood on noe when I went out for a cig. I have had to bleach my toes, between retching and screaming like a 4 yr old!

Earwigs cos they keep eating my dahlias.
Red spider mites cos they make a mess of my busy lizzies.
Slugs and snails cos they eat my petunias.
Flies cos they walk in dog sh*t and then in the food.

Give me house spiders and moths any day rather than those.

Babyshambles! I hope you washed that bleach of your feet properly! x

Oh Babysham, I really feel for you. When it's wet her I don't do any gardening because of the ginormous slugs. Can't go anywhere near them.
The worst though, are the huge, hairy spiders that move at the speed of light and, as soon as you've spotted one, it vanishes. This is the most stressful if it is in your bedroom when you don't sleep a wink in case it drops on you or scuttles across you. Eeeeuw.

Bees and wasps, absolutely terrified, had a phobia ever since i can remember and now my 2 daughters are the same about them. I once let go of my pram on a hill because a wasp was buzzing in my hair, I've ran out in front of a bus because some young daft kids were thrashing a stick in some bushes behind me at a bus top where a few wasps were buzzing about. I've thrown the washing I was about to hang out, all over the garden, ran indoors and left it til my husband came in all because of a bee landing on top of it just as i was about to hang it out.

I used to hate wasps. Then someone said to me one day 'But we all have the same Creator' and since then I have always felt quite comfortable with insects etc. Ghandi never trod on an insect of any kind, and I think he was a great teacher, although by no means perfect in every aspect of his life. But who is?

the only insect that makes me a bit freaked out is cockroaches, they move too quickly and just make my skin crawl, other than that I am fine with most insects. I used to hate slugs too but forced myself to hold one to get over it and now I don't mind them..but saying that I think I would react like you if I stood on one.

Tough since I hate most insects. I would say the mosquito. Any flying thing that lands on me and bites me to suck blood has to be the worst. This would also include deer flies and horseflies but since mosquitoes are more common they are my choice.

I think PEOPLE "bug" me the most. They're dirty, noisy, & have to leave their "mark" on every tree, rock, and snowbank they can find. It seems they're ALWAYS swarming in large #s wherever you go, and just when you THINK you've gotten RID of the LAST one in your yard- three more come knocking at the door! I'm really hoping that Global Warming kills a few million of them off- so that there's more PEACE & quiet in the World. -But I KNOW it's pretty "wishfull thinking". Oh well... :)
