By winning Miss Local Whatever, then beating out the rest of the people in your state's pageant to win Miss Whatever State You Live In, and then beating out the girls from all the other states in the final. Beauty, poise, excellent grades, goals, community service record, good public speaker, these are just a few of the things they look for. Most pageant winners have been doing pageants for years before they ever win something at that level.

Try entering for the contest. Most stores have a drop box with an entry blank to fill out. Enter your name, address, phone number including the best time of day you can be reached. Fold the entry blank in half and drop it in the slot. In most cases, you need not to be present to win. And good luck.
