I remember a high school government teacher once saying that the ONLY things you need to put on a campaign sign are your name and your party affiliation. If you've got a short, witty slogan to help people remember your name it can't hurt, but name and party are all you need. Party affiliations are a quick and easy (read: lazy) way for most people to get the condensed version of the candidate without having to actually research him or her. And the vast majority of Americans, of all political persuasions, can't really be bothered to research a candidate beyond a few big issues.

So the answer is D, unfortunately.

How the candidate has voted on issues. Let me see the voting record. Standing in front of a television camera they tend to say anything, however their voting record says even more.

No doubt it's D. Many people will vote for the candidate of their party regardless of who it is. B is wishful thinking, because that's what it should be.
