How is it that we fight terrorist in the middle east the keep from fighting over here? I dont understand, We're up aganist millions who are willing to strap a bomb to there bodies just to kill a hand full of americans, or anyone that doesn't agree with there way of life. To me thats an unstoppable force especailly when these people are being brainwashed into believing that killing all outcast of there religion is the right thing to do. I deployed to iraq for 15 months, and i honestly don't know weather is a good idea to stay or go but i don't understand how us being there will keep them from comming here, thats like an invite.

Amazing offers "surrender" as an alternative to our present strategy of torturing and killing innocent victims. How many members of Al Queda were in Iraq prior to our invasion? Answer: None. How many are there now? Thousands.

Clearly we seem to be working at odds to our stated goals.

I am continuously amazed and how many people draw a connection between Iraq and 9/11. 19 hijackers comandeered commercial US aircraft. NONE of them were from Iraq, or ever had any connection to Saddam Hussein. But hey, in the eyes of Bush, "seen one raghead, seen them all."

The answer's complex, but essentially Iraq is a front on the war on terror. It doesn't matter whether Iraq was or wasn't a haven for terrorists before September 11th. Once US forces invaded Iraq, that attracted Islamist fighters to the area, much like what happened in Afghanistan in the '80s. When the USSR invaded, Islamists from all over the Muslim world traveled there to fight off the Soviets. Islamists don't conceive of borders and nationalities in the same way that we do in the United States or the West. In fact, they hate their governments and some groups are actively trying to tear them down. They hold a pan-Muslim belief, which is that all Muslims are connected through religion rather than nationality or race. So, when there's a place to fight, they respond to the call and fight. That's why some people argue that fighting them over there works. Right now they're diverting most of their fighters to Iraq. That's not to say that there couldn't be terrorist attacks here, but it's not an altogether bad argument that creating a front in another country works.

It is all a facade to cover the real reason for being in the middle east, and we all know what that is by now. Armed forces are trained to defend and kill, and they do this very well. they are not trained to question directives from above. There is absolutely nothing to gain other than money and oil for killing lotso f muslims or Iraqis - it is similar to the crusades against the Moores with the Spanish, Hitler & Jews, what point did it serve? Did the Jews rise up against Germany? Of course not. Iraq aren't going to be going over to the US and killing Americans, they have just been unfortunate enough to be in an oil region. If people want to bomb places and kill people, you can't really stop them as you say, and killing everyone isn't going to solve anything either. The question to be asked in the first place is this; WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO BLOW SOMEONE ELSE UP IN THE FIRST PLACE? How did this all start? Muslims may not like our way of life, but they aren't going to blow anyone up unless they are provoked to begin with...the whole argument of Muslims not liking the western world is really a cover for the fact that governments want the oil in the region, as well as the fact that it is actually western governments who do not like their foreign investments being located so closely to an area which is volatile and unstable. The answer for governments is to simply go in and control them, hence why allied forces are in Iraq in the first place...it has nothing to do with spreading democracy, it's about controlling the area to protect foreign investment, and in Bush's case, to protect family interests.

The most committedly anti-American would-be terrorists are simply given a more immidiate target in the middle east - the American occupation of Iraq. Since Iraq is predominantly muslem, it can even be seen as a noble defensive effort. Given the choice of blowing themselves up to drive the Great Satan out of the Ummah, or blowing themselves up to put abstract political preasure on the United States, your typical would-be terrorist will go for the glory of martyrdom in Iraq.

That's the idea. Of course, there are probably some for whom the occupation represents the provokation that put them over the line in the first place, and they might not have become terrorists for years, if ever (remaining merely sympathizers) had the invasion not taken place. So, while we might be fighting them over there instead of here, we're likely fighting more of them.

FWIW.

Not only that we have how many gas station across the USA millions maybe, who seems to own 99 percent of them and why do they own so many? I'm just sick of being talk to like a dumbie and treated the same. We are treated like sheep in the airports. We should have done what we haven't done and that is strike with all our might if someone hits us in our country. Take out a can of whip *** and don't stop until they say uncle. by the way where is OSAMA should have killed his family and everyother saudi alive.

The Iraq war has played right into the hands of AL Quida, giving them easy targets without coming here, also many, many more have joined the movement because it is so easy. Thank George Bush for being such a dumb a** for this.

The real battle not under review is a growing division between Globalists and AntiGlobalists. Al Qaeda is anti-globalist, and many poor and rural Americans are anti-globalists. Bush and the mega oil and security industries are globalists and many illegal aliens in America are globalists.
It is the same unchanging story, rich versus poor. Rich want to get richer and poor want to live.
The way politics are evolving, America will become a nation of corporates and the world will be the workers trying to get a job, ie citizenship in the nation.

never figured that out myself,it's just more newspeak used to control thought.

Take a country, that had nothing to do with 9/11, and turn it into a warzone in order to make Americans 'feel' safer.
Not actually be safer, but just to 'feel' safer.
Makes me wonder why people hate Americans.....

They can hit the US anytime they want.

they were already coming here prior to 9/11. OKC BOmbing, flight 800, first WTC attack in '93. half a dozen or more foiled attacks(New years Y2K) etc....
so those 1000's of potential terrorists are now in iraq and not in the US via student visas and or illegal immigration coming from mehico. almost all of those suicide bombers in iraq are foreigners, sunnis and from the wahabbi sect.

you'll notice they are all cowards. they cannot face our troops directly but have to resort to roadside bombs hidden. they have to resort to bombs on their person and can never fight face to face like real men. they hide behind women and children and use their "mosques" as "safe havens".

those bombers will hit the US this summer and then we'll see how Americans will react after it happens here like it did on 9/11. the democrats and liberals will blame Bush for making them "hate us more" as if that could happen. they already want to cut your throat and or convert you.
