You can ride a camel for fun at the pyramids. The price is set according to the distance you like. A short ride costs 20 Egyptian pounds, a longer ride about 50 EP. A photo only on the camel about 10 EP.

"Avis" has a special weekend rate on 4WD Camels...

Just kidding... How many times do we have to tell you people that Camels are not used as means of transport any more... not in Egypt not anywhere else...

Camels are used for fun rides in some tourist areas, specially by the pyramids in Giza... as other Answeres said it might cost you any where between 20 to 50 LE for a few minutes ride.

Ask for a price, then offer 50%, then settle for 75%.
Prices vary wherever u go. At the pyramids we paid 50 egyptian pounds(5 english pounds or $10 american) for a 20 minute ride to a spot where u can get a really good pic of all three pyramids.
Non-touristy areas will be the cheapest and if u have an egyptian guide he/she will get u the best prices.

If you are serious Balsam gave you the right answer.

If you are not serious try the big company {EuroCamels} operating in most Egyptian cities. You can pay like 100$ daily for medium Camel otherwise take care the Camel may ride you.

I will give you my camel, no charge, if you come and get him.
he lives on my ship, but I don't want him - I just can't get rid of him. He's nice enough on land, it's just that he gets seasick .... but in the desert he should be fine!! He's really a nice camel - he doesn't spit at people or anything like that.
He even has a patch over one of his eyes, he would be perfect for a master pirate like you!! (He's not actually blind, he just wears it for effect.)
