A first love is a very special thing to have experienced & one that rarely is forgotten.
I would ask yourself some pertinent questions before considering approaching this person about how you feel. Have you asked yourself as to why you still have feelings for your 1st love for all these yrs.? Are you on the rebound, just broke off a relationship with someone or feeling lonely? What are your intentions for where the relationship is to go between you & your 1st love, do you want to take it to a serious level or are you just going "down memory lane" & reminising. You'll need to establish the grounds for reconnecting with your 1st love, that way you'll both know where you stand.
Also please make sure that your 1st love isn't involved with a "significant other". Informing someone of your feelings when they are involved with another person can make things very uncomfortable for you & the other person...so handle the situation with extra care.
If indeed you want to reconnect with your 1st love & neither of you are in a serious relationship or involved with someone, then there isn't any harm of letting this person know that you still think of them even after all these yrs. You never know, this person might still have feelings for you as well but hasn't been sure how to approach you to tell you how they feel.
