pumpkin problems?

Question

we have these white pumpkins in our garden and they have these holes in them now. we don't know where they came from, whether its a bug or anything. the holes are coming from the inside out.

any ideas?

I would think that a vine borer laid eggs in the blossom when they were tiny and there are now worms on the inside busy ruining those pumpkins.

You need to take protective action to destroy insects from the very beginning
