Our over-crowded prisons would burst at the seams if cheating on your spouse was a crime. Have you been reading how many people are cheating?! It is overwhelming.
I wish you could figure out who would cheat and who would be honest so the true people could hook up and the cheaters could all screw each other over and be happy about it. At least everyone would know where they stood.
What if marriage consisted of four-year hitches like the military and people had to serve out the contract unless there was abuse, drug abuse, cheating, mental illness or death? If a child were involved, the contract would extend until the child was 18. To get out, the person would have to prove justifiable cause.
I am not sure what the answer is, but I am so sick of people lying, cheating, and acting like their feelings are the only ones that count that I could go postal. Jeez. I feel like we all need lie-detectors in our living rooms.
I am thinking about the illegal thing. Maybe at least punishable by fines, maybe probation with an ankle bracelet, community service...
Keep thinking....

I think cheating should become illegal and people that do it should be sent to prison for at least 25 years and spend the whole time there so. Without the possibility of parole ever. no 2 days for 1 and/or good behavior either.

it is illegal,, but most states don't act upon it.. but it will cause a damper on a divorce.. some judges do frown upon it and will give the biggest chunk of the money to the one who did not cheat

i don't think it would change anything except people would spend lots of time in jail or paying money for fines. Let's face it people who cheat on their spouses are not concerned about breaking their commitment so why would they be concerned about breaking the law

Well, all I know is that if using bad grammar became illegal, you'd be breaking the law...

I wish it was. Fewer people would stop letting themselves be lead around by their sex organs.
