Of course not. The whole family was placed under house arrest for years, until it was decided they should all go to prison. Louis was the first to be sent to the guillotine, and Marie-Antoinette, about a year later.
It was all decided by the National Assembly that ruled France after the Revolution. the King and Queen were devoted to each other during their last years together.

Absolutely not!

The radicals led by The Mountain and the Sans Coulettes were the leading factors behind the execution of Louis XVi, Marie Antoinette and anyone else they deemed to be a tratior. As historian Chirstopher Herold put it, in so many words, to be guilty of treason you merely ahd to be a noble or even a former noble.

No; they were ordered to be executed by the new French government. They were both given trials (more like kangaroo courts) and obviously were found guilty.

Louis XVI was executed by a man named Charles Sanson whom was actually hired by Louis (as one of the offical executioners) years ago and the two were somewhat close (imagine being ordered to execute your best friend).

I'm not sure if Sanson helped to execute his wife Marie Antoinette, though.
