I sometimes feel that way. We are supposedly guaranteed freedom of religion in the bill of rights but if my religion says that homosexuality is wrong, the liberals will attack me.

There is a difference between what you believe and how you act. Law dictates ones actions. Never has anybody gone to prison for privately thinking something bad. With that in mind what you believe cannot be defined as correct or just without action. Belief without action is worthless and cannot be judged correct or incorrect.
