yeah it's wonderful that liberals think that jobs like mickey D's and walmart should provide a "living wage" and not merely a part time job for a student or mom looking to make extra cash. get an education, then get a REAL JOB paying a real wage. those jobs are not to provide you a better life or full benefits!!! which is why american students are finding it harder and harder to find jobs. illegals work at mickey D's, walmarts, walgreens etc....cause they come to do the work american's won't, right?

Well, let's see.
The federal minimum wage increased by 70 cents per hour. So, to justify raising prices by $3 per burger, the hamburger would have to take over four hours of dedicated effort to produce.
But also consider that most states already have a higher state minimum wage than the federal minimum, which means the federal minimum change has no net effect in that state.

Minimum wage is just that, the absolute minimum an employer can pay. Most people even those at entry level at McDonald's get more than the absolute minimum already.

The minimum wage hadn't been raised in so long that it was actually sitting below the market clearing price of even the most unskilled labor.
In my area, the boost is meaningless - nobody worked for that little. I'm sure that other areas of the country that had lower cost of living will notice the difference, though...

It's the liberal lefts gift to their lazy constituents, wait it won't be long and they will demand a raise . No incentive to work and do better or stay in school to get a better job, no just flip burgers and party,. Yeah I know I've heard all the other stories about trying to get ahead etc. you don't need to repeat that's (for those on the left ). (the bleeding hearts ). Pelosi, Reid, Murtha, Kerry, Kennedy , will take care of you "in a pigs eye".

You can pay $8.00 for a burger. I surely won't. The Senate is now considering raising their yearly income to around $175,000/ year. They aren't worth $8.00 and hour.

The real joke is the bogus wage movement that uses phony phrases like "liveable wage" to make people think we need minimum wages. Heck, if it was that easy, why not make the "liveable wage" $100,000 per year?
Wouldn't that make everyone FEEL good?

you're panicking, there's nothing indicating that kind of price hike will happen. This is the longest period in history since there has been a min. wage, that there has not been an increase in that min. wage to match the cost of living. It's long overdue.
I'm guessing since you have no clue what it's like to be poor, that you will have no problems with paying a few cents extra for your cholesterol laden burger.
