They are right! Go with Verizon DSL. It's slower than cable but it's under $20.00.

verizon has their 768kbps DSL service for $14.99 a month. that's for the first year. it goes up after that to the "then regular monthly pricing". can't tell from the website how much the service will be starting the 2nd year. it's a 1-year contract. first month is free. you also get a $25 Target gift card.
of course you have to be able to get service at your location. type in your phone # or address to check.

Well u can get a lot of different providers for that amount.
1) AOL- 9.99-Dial Up
2) Netscape- 9.99- Dial Up
3) NetZero- 9.95- Dial Up
4) People PC- 10.95 - Dial Up
5) AT&T Basic - 14.99- Somewhat High Speed
6) Verizon Wireless - 14.99- Somewhat High Speed
Alot of Choises. From the dial up AOL is the best for me from the dial ups.. I currently have AT&T high speed internet 3MB for 24.99. Good Luck...
P.S.- For People PC it costs 1.25 everytime you call cosumer service and verizon isnt avalable in all areas.

It honestly depends on what is available in your area. I think verizon has a good deal on DSL for about that price. AT&T might as well, but It really depends where you live and what your local phone provider is.

15 dollars will only buy you dial up. Go with ATT/SBC...it's $15 + tax and other stuff....So overall it's no more than $20 bucks for DSL. Right now ATT/SBC merge with another company and it was allowed by the government because they agree they would offer low cost internet without any contracts. So you can get ATT/SBC without having to switch to their phone service.
Go to www.att.com

dsl will be cheaper than cable, but I don't know if you can get it as low as $15! That's about what most dial-up costs. If you have a phone land-line, check with your provider for bundle pricing, but I still think it will be at least $20.
For your budget, look at dialup with nethere or peoplepc.
