Tell your husband exactly what you said here, that you don't really like the name that he chose, but would like to pick one together. Don't name your child something you don't like.
Good luck, and congrats on the baby ^_^

You can give the baby as many names as you'd like but its always the first that he'll go by so put the Mayan in the middle that way the baby will know how to pronounce the name lol your husband will understand and he can call him by that name anyways

if its hard for you to pronounce, it'll be hard for most other people too.
your child's name is something you should both be happy and settle on. tell him to keep looking! maybe you can find a spanish or english name that has the same meaning as the mayan name.

It isn't fair if you don't agree to a first name. Use it as a middle name and then work on names you can agree on.
If it is a girl Mayan would be a pretty name

i totally agree with you, my husband and i had the same exact problem, what we ended up doing is each of us made a long list of names we liked then we switched lists, and circled what we liked of each others list, we basically did that till there were only a few names to choose from, then you just need to respect each others wishes, and come to an agreement. I picked her first name he picked her middle names, yes i sd, names she has 3 middle names hahaha hey it was my bargaining chip, you cant win them all. but we all ended up happy.

You should tell him how you feel about the name and maye you two can work it out. Possibly a name that you both agree on and a name you can pronounce.

unless it is a family name I would tell him no you don't like it he might be hurt but at least you were honest and he'll get over it! Maybe he can make a variation of that name as the middle name or something?

Can it be a middle name. Both of you can come up with a list of names you like and go from there. I let my husband name our son ...why did I do that?!?!?!

of course you should object. What are you gonna say "oh yes this is my baby, his name oh well Ijust call him baby if you wanna know his real name ask his dad." that's just unreasonable and imsure theres a wonderful name you both can enjoy. Talk to him and make it a joint decision.
