I am not American and no way do I think America is innocent. A lot of people think America is innocent because they have a president like George Bush who acts all friendly to everyone, smiles a lot and has good charisma so a lot of people would see him as a generally nice guy just because he doesn't spout all the evil he really feels inside, like Hitler did. A lot of people are also misinformed on the atrocious acts that America has done, especially in the American media. Never in the American media does it mention what troops are really asked to do in Iraq and what some troops do out of their own choice (kill lots of Iraqis, rape girls etc) but then again, there are those that are informed and so they don't think America is so not innocent.

I'm Canadian by the way. The problem with Americans is that too many of them believe what they see and hear from their news media. The American news media is an international joke. It's been compared to TASS under the Soviet regime. What Americans get from outfits like CNN (the most trusted name in news.. sniff) is highly sanitized and carefully controlled. Most Americans have no idea of what their country is doing around the world. Dubya made things worse by invading Iraq under fabricated pretenses and then making all the same mistakes that made Vietnam so much fun. The impression that the rest of the world gets of the U.S. is that Americans believe that the entire world is theirs for the taking. I can only shudder when the U.S starts to run low on fresh water (which is already happening) and then someone tells the president that Canada is sitting on half the world's supply. I guess we can look forward to "Operation Can-free' where we'll be 'liberated' and get 'democracy'.

Bush is more stupid and lazy than crooked, although the consequences are the same. But, he's only one in a long line of nitwits going back 60 years when our power began to outstrip our ability to handle it.

Most people are ignorant about the consequences of our thoughtless bullying foreign policy until it smacks them up side the head like 9/11. Now they're just dissociating responsibility for the karma out of laziness - with George's encouragement of course. But, we are listening less and less and people are in the mood for a little thoughtfulness and brainpower.

There ARE people trying to make difference in a multitude of ways. We must just continue our efforts.

I don't think people believe that America is innocent. I think people see America as naive about certain issues. I also think some people from other countries see America as a threat.

Theodore Roosevelt once said America should walk softly and carry a big stick.

As a super power, America should be well-nformed but we shouldn't be so involved in other country's civil war.

for somebody who claims to circulate to courtroom plenty you look to have a tricky time with criminal theories. you're harmless till shown accountable yet that does no longer mean you shouldn't be arrested and put in penal complex pending bail/courtroom. It additionally does no longer mean everybody has to run around and act like they did no longer see you smash the regulation. It purely ability that there is a presumption of innocence and the authorities might desire to practice previous a real looking doubt which you committed the crime throughout the time of your trial. The protection would not could practice something. If the prosecutor fails to practice previous a shadow of a doubt which you're accountable then the protection wins. Sanctions (incarceration, fines, needed scientific care, and so on.) can in basic terms be positioned on you once you're convicted in a courtroom of regulation. till then you definately're in the sparkling.

Innocent of what, running to the aid of any country hit by natural disaster. Leading the world in changing how we treat our natural resources.

Based on history you say, well let's hear it. What are your claims.

Sure there's plenty going on that most people choose to ignore but I can't remember the last time I saw a video of an american beheading an innocent person with a steak knife, or driving a car bomb in to a crowded market, not to mention a couple of passenger jets flown into the towers.

azzholes like you quickly forget the evil around the world that our young men and women are fighting against.

Or how about the 11 or 12 million illegal imigrants. What other country in the world would take care of such criminals the way we do.

America, it ain't perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but you name me one country that is, or is a better place to live.

most Americans think they are on top. for so long we've been told we are such a great nation and others are the enemy. when i talk to other people from other countries, they seem to know so much about us. but when asked about their country a good percentage of us are clueless. why you think thats so? we need to as a nation take in consideration that USA is not the whole world. don't get me wrong i love USA this is where i live. but we need to wake up, change, and shake up. the media tells us what they what us to know. the information is out there. Ask, and speak up. about the economy or even the environment.

Yes, mate... it's called capitalism. I understood it when I was 10 years old after reading An American Tragedy by Dreiser. Democracy has definitely left the building. People are scared and most people have never lived any other way. Most haven't been out of the country.

The Roman Empire fell... unfortunately, nothing is forever.

Let me tell you that no one believes that America is innocent. On the contrary many of the world problems are caused by American foreign policy. America is a very selfish nation.
