I need to calculate the fallowing information, I just need some help please. If you can include HOW you got to the answer, thats what I am looking for, not just an answer. I am not sure what to do.

I am checking this for my mom cause her English is not so good, she does not understand the question and I suck at math/calculating % stuff.

What was the combined sales revenue in March for the Parts and Sertives Divisions?

Division : Parts - April Sales:$11,000 - % Increase Over March: 10%

Division: Services - April Sales: $70,000 - % Increase Over March: 25%

To convert a percentage to a number useful for calculations, you move the decimal place over twice to the left. So, 10% becomes .10 or .1
100% of March's revenue is 1 x March's revenue
10% of March's revenue is .1 x March's revenue
If you add March's revenue plus the 10% increase, you get April's revenue.

Parts:
1 x March's revenue + .1 x March's revenue = 11,000 (April's revenue)
You can add the 1+.1 so that
1.1 x March revenue = 11,000
To solve for March's Parts revenue you divide 11,000 by 1.1

Repeat for Services:
1.25M=70,000
70,000/1.25 = March's services revenue

Add the two final answers together to get total revenues.

Let the Parts sales for march=x
& the service sales for march=y
so as per given conditions,we have
x*110%=11,000---------(1)
& y*125%=70,000----(2)
From (1),we have
x=11,000*100/110=10,000
& From (2) ,we have
y=70,000*100/125=56,000
so x+y=10,000+56,000=66,000 is the total sales Revenue for March

Parts March = 11000/1.10 = 10000
Services March = 70000/1.25 = 56000

Total March = 66000
