I've gone through phases: first I was a light sleeper, then I couldn't sleep at all (I had insomnia really bad when I was in college) now I'm a much heavier sleeper.
I live in an apartment complex, and a car almost right across from mine caught fire one night, then the tires blew up and shattered the windows of the upstairs apartment where it was parked. The fire trucks, police and ambulances all came with their lights flashing and sirens wailing. The next morning, my neighbors asked what I thought about all the excitement last night. I said "what excitement?" I hadn't heard a thing.

LOL. I am a light sleeper. Maybe because I live by myself. But I even wake up a few minutes before the alarm clock goes off. In a way its annoying because every little thing wakes you up

I'm a pretty light sleeper. I only sleep hard when I'm super tired, but I could hear a bomb go off next to my head!

I've slept at concerts, 15 feet from the stage, sitting against the wall. But I can be a conscious-sleeper too. I can wake up to hear my daughter cry with her bedroom door closed and my bedroom door closed. I guess I am good at controlling my "selective hearing".

Both my girlfriend and I are very heavy sleepers. In our old house, we woke up one morning to find a fire truck putting out a car fire across the street from us!! The police concluded it was arson and a bomb went off!! We didn't hear a thing.

I'm kind of both...I think it depends on where I am...if I am in a strange environment, I wake up at the drop of a pin. When in a place I normally sleep, I could sleep for ages!!

Somewhere in the middle and very selective - thunder, lightning, sirens and aircraft flying low overhead won't wake me, but whisper my name or roll over and touch me, and you'd have my undivided attention for as long as you want it.
