Yes you can, but since they are cold water fish, I feed mine goldfish flakes. They really love them.

Oh - if you have them in your tank or pond - watch out, Rosey Reds are prolific breeders. Believe me - I know from experience.

In March I had 7 adults - now I have over 200 minnows in my pond - and that's after giving away a few hundred, and euthanizing a few hundred more. Right now I have 4 breeding adults and I'm trying to catch and eliminate. They are fast and difficult to catch.

They are prolific because the male minnow guards the eggs until they hatch. So he prevents them from being eaten. That results in lots and lots of little babies. And I mean lots!

Good Luck with your minnows. If you lived near me, I'd give you some.

It extremely won't harm, even though it extremely is not perfect. the single ingredient to keep in mind approximately goldfish, they could have food that sinks. They take in too plenty air and can get off stability in the event that they consume off the best of the water. place a pinch of food below the water and enable it flow. This helps with the above situation. Sinking pellets are extremely great for goldfish. in no way feed any fish too plenty, over eating is between the premier reasons of fish dying.

Yes, but you always run the risk of feeder fish carrying diseases that will infect your fish. Frozen food or live shrimp are always safer.
