I want to just unplug the thing, but I have no idea what that would do. You see, I'm trying to connect using a Wi-Fi USB connector for my DS, but the router is interfering. I was looking for a way to turn it off for a bit, so I can go on wifi, but I don't want to change the settings, or reset it by accident.

Basically, all I really need to know is that, if I unplug the power cord from the back, will it erase any settings.

Unplugging a Router will not lose any settings. It could sit forever and come back just the way it was configured.
I use all linksys products and have had no problems with anything. You could also call their product support. They are very good.

Unplugging just the internet cable won't fix her problem. The problem is that her router is interfering with her DS. To solve this problem you have to go into your router settings and change the channel for your router, but that's probably too complicated. To solve your original question, if you unplug your router the setting won't get erased. I have a linksys too and I unplug it every night and the settings are always there in the morning.

Yes, you can turn it off without losing your settings. You don't lose the settings unless you yourself reset the router to factory settings or unless it has a MAJOR glitch (rare, but possible).

EDIT - added in response to your additional details: Unplugging the router and then plugging it back in later won't affect your settings.

Once you have the configuration properly set up, SAVE the settings on your router (look for the SAVE prompt). Also, it is wise to download a copy to your pc if your router permits this as a secondary back up.
