Unfortunately it is the back window. So what is an estimate for taking it to a professional and getting it removed?

That can be a pain. We used to charge as much to take old stuff off as what we charge to put new stuff on.

Sometimes the liner would peel off and we could scrape the glue off with a bit of soapy water.

Sometimes, we had to soak the glue in ammonia to get it to come off.

Sometimes, we had to use a hot gun to get the glass hot enough to melt the glue and then carefully peel this super hot sticky substance off of the window. Also, this is a wonderful way to shatter a window if you are not experienced with a hot gun on glass.

Normally, the side windows are flatter than the back window and we used razor blades and soapy water to get the stuff off. That and a lot of work. Like I said, we had times when it came off easy though but normally it was a pain. Also, the only time I ever cut myself was while removing old, baked on window tint. Don't try to force the razor blade to do the work.

It is the back window that is the most of a pain. There is usually a lot of curve on the window and also since the window has more of an upward angle on it, the glue had baked on better. Also, if there were defroster lines, we had to be very careful. It does not take much to destroy those.

I have read of a steam method that is supposed to be alot easier but I have never tried it.

yes the best way to remove it is to use a hair dryer and peel it off slowly and use some adhesive remover afterwards to remove the glue this may not be an easy task. Good Luck!!!
