He's earned it. His performances haven't stunk (a few have).

I realize it's hard to let go of W-L record as a meaningful pitcher metric, but it is leading you astray and down the path of darkness. You alone can choose not to go there.

well being as the yankees aren't even close to making the playoffs-he's not earning crap and won't-because they won't be in the playoffs.

the sox have better pitching and hitting

the tigers have better pitching and hitting

the twins have better pitching-so so hitting

cleveland has better hitting and no pitching (which makes them equal with the yanks

and beating up on tampa bay doesn't count.

so i don't see the yanks passing any of the above teams for the wild card other than tampa-which doesnt even qualify as a major league team.

and there's no way the yanks will catch boston. even if they do-they'll have to out hit them or out pitch them-neither of which they'll be able to down the stretch.

and i'm no sox fan but a die hard season ticket holder of the giants

and yes my team sucks

To make his salary "worth it" to the club, he had to win or put the club in position to win every game he started. Those scenarios are impossible, and it shows again why King George is only as good as the staff he doesn't step on to make baseball decisions. The signing was ridiculous and shows the desperation Steinbrenner felt as the club slumped in the standings.

I don't care if he goes 10-0 or 0-10 the rest of the way. The chance to earn the money will be in the playoffs. Same goes for A-Rod.

everyone knew he wouldn't perform as well as a 28 million dollar man lol since day 1

Dude is what 44? You can't expect much from him except 5 or 6 solid innings a start

NO! He's an above average pitcher at best right now. He's almost as old as my father! He's not gonna make a difference on the field for that team, this year he's gonna realize that he's done.

Considering I'm a Red Sox fan hopefully he'll continue to suck!

Geez, they could have given me way less than what they paid him and I probably could have done better then what he's done so far.

I'll give him credit for one thing though, he sure was a smart salesman for himself now wasn't he!

Yankees should have known better.

He is earning it now by going out every fifth day to do his job. His contract calls for no more or less than that. You don't have to win all your games to do your job, you just have to do the best you can.

If he fulfills his contract obligations, he's earned it.
