1) The Colts take hits to their defense every year yet have averaged 12 wins per year for 5 straight seasons. The losses this year were actually less than in recent years.
2) You are right about Tarik Glenn's retirement. It would have been better if they had a transition year but Ugoh and Johnson both look promising. Hopefully one of them will get the job done.
3) The Colts have the best quarterback in the game. He has the best receivers in the game. He has the best pass protecting line in the game.
The Colts will be exactly the same 12-4 as they have all decade. They are the most stable, predictable franchise in the league.

Are you a dumbass?? Colts are taking the division this year...again...at least 11-5. Yes Glenn is gone, but did you see Charlie Johnson play in the Super Bowl at T? He was lights out! And he'll start our season. Plus, we lost ONE O-Lineman. Doesn't mean we're going to give up 40+ sacks. And what do you mean "incredible hit???" Our defense has always sucked, but our offense won us games. If Cato June was that good, then how come we still allowed nearly 200 yards a game last year and I got to see The Oompa Loompah run over June every time he touched the ball. Harper was a sad loss yes. But Jason Davis blows. He can't cover for his life! Montae Reagor played in like 2 games. Besides, we have Bob Sanders back, and he's really good. Antoine Bethea played brilliantly as a rookie last year, and he's only getting better. We still got Freeney and Mathis off the ends, Quinn Pitcock is up the middle. Kelvin Haydn will be solid and Daymien Hughes, a rookie should start opposite. You have a lot to learn about the Colts. You've probably only watched them last year. They lost tons of good defensive players and the past, and still made the playoffs.

They have enough fire power on offense to still get the job done. Manning is one of the best under pressure i the pocket, he has a unique keen sense when he's in trouble, one of the reasons he's never taken the huge hits that get most QB's injured.
Their defense came around last year when Bobby Sanders came back and sparked the D, and they were really good in the playoffs, probably the reason they were able to get by the Ravens and were able to hold New England from really getting away with the turnovers the Offense was committing.
They are in a division with the Texans, Jaguars (who are having QB issues out the ying yang), and the Titans who have Vince Young but not much else. They could easily go 5-1 in their own division alone. Lots of teams have upgraded, like New England that would make them seem to be favorites in the AFC but Indianapolis is most likely a 10-6, 11-5 playoff team in my opinion.

Sure, losing Glenn hurts, but the last time Glenn didn't play for the Colts (he was injured for 6 games in 03), Peyton still threw 29 touchdowns and completed 67% of his passes, while only being sacked 18 times. They have enough talent and depth at the line positions to still have an effecient and effective line, and Peyton gets rid of the ball as quick as anyone. Jason David and Nick Harper are bums, and losing them probably is for the best because it gives the younger guys a chance to step up, and I think they will be surprisingly good. Their linebackers are what concern me. Losing Cato June will hurt, but it will not render their defense impotent.
So to answer your question....Doomed? No way. They have lost some talent, but they're definitely still a playoff contender, and once the playoffs start, anything can happen. I don't see them repeating this year, but they certainly shouldn't be giving up on the season.

I disagree, I think the Colts will still be a playoff team. Although they will not be as good as last year. You are correct their defense took a lot of big hits in the off-season and now with the retirement of Tarik Glenn that does weaken a very strong offensive line.

Just so you know the defense was just in a slump. They only had about 4 really bad games. Look the defense helped alot in the playoffs winning the SuperBowl. The offense is still crazy, too. Besides Manning is working with other recievers so he can pass to prety much everybody on the field.

They are not. As long as Saturday doesn't leave, the team will be fine. Besides, with Manning calling audibles, is offensive line has an advantage over a defensive lineman. Rember they drafted an offensive line in this year's draft.

giving one player 10% of the salary cap can do nothing but hurt in the long run because eventually they will have to pay others and they wont have the cap room..funny how teams cant learn from other teams past mistakes..like the cowboys and niners and packers.when you overpay for a few players you end up with a bad team.in the short term they arent doomed but in the next 2 or 3 seasons they will be.

You have got to be kidding. The Colts are the defending Super Bowl XLI champs and they are going to be the class of the AFC South.
