I always heard the same 4 towns as the bottom or close to the bottom: New Bedford, Lawrence, Haverhill and Lowell. New Bedford has been decimated by the fishing bust while the other 3 have never recovered from the textile bust.

I would say Dorchestor, Roxbury, Chelsea, Lynn, Lawrence, & Brockton have some of the highest crime rates in the state.

depends on what u mean by worse. i like in the inner city of boston and there is a lot going on so i wouldnt suggest it unless u r used to it. its not the worse place but not the best either. most of the crime and going ons are related to individuals and family of individuals who are directly involved in shady situations

Stay out of Springfield &Holyoke too.Shooting a day in Spfld,Loads of drugs & it's by products in Holyoke.
