my son just poured my bettas onto the carpet the bettas are fine but what do I do about the carpet preferrably the non steam cleaning method.

Lay down towels and blot up what you can, and then lay down some different towels and walk on them until they get up what they can. Don't rub the fibers--that doesn't help. After you've dried as much as you can, set up a fan or hold a hair dryer and dry until you don't feel the damp anymore. Then sprinkle with baking soda and vacuum up.

Just blot up the water. If there is a stain use resolve its the greatest you can find it at walmart.

just use a lil hot water and some type of cleaner in it, and use an old rag.
