No, I believe that the president can only pardon for federal criminal matters, not civil matters. I believe that contempt charges in this area is civil.
Additionally, jjayflash9 is incorrect with his/her statement. The president cannot pardon for anything. The president does not have the authority to pardon violations of STATE law. He only has the power to pardon criminals who have been convicted of federal criminal law violations.

It seems in this U.S. the President can do anything he wants. He can even through you in prison just because he wants to. People better wake up, everyday you are losing more of your rights and don't even know it. Once we have no rights, they can start to put the one world order together and I wouldn't be surprised if Bush thinks he's going to run that to.
