No, it's because of the fact that the only comparison between Iraq and Vietnam is that the military is involved.

Today's crop of liberals is nothing but a bunch of wanna bes looking for a cause that simply isn't there.

Duh, who controls the media these days? Only a few people who have a huge stake in the war. Like GE that owns NBC, MSNBC, and other media outlets, for example. It's also a huge war contractor in Iraq. So if you're expecting the same mistake to be made again by allowing artist to have their anti-war songs played on mainstream radio--FORGET IT.

Wake up to reality--this is not "the good old days." This is what happens to the many young and media-ignored protesters of today:

Instead of good, meaningful music, we have a bunch of emo crap from the likes of James Blunt. I think that a lot of young people have been lulled into a sort of complacency in which they feel comfortable in their circumstances and aren't motivated to try to change the world for the better.

You baby boomers put entirely too much stock in your accomplishments. Woodstock was a drug fest, and with a few exceptions, the music of the 60's sucked. You didn't end the Vietnam war, you didn't change the world. You smoked pot and complained a lot.

Thanks again for all your contributions.

It came from the joints, pills and needles and it changed the world for the worse.

There were some good guitar riffs but I want non-college-educated musicians talking about political and economic issues as much as I want Rose Friedman to re-do Ella Fitzgerald's Cole Porter Songbook.

The hippies are long gone. Thank God. Young people are too self centered to waste their time on something that doesn't directly affect them. Want to get them fired up about something? Take away their cell phones.

Protest songs don't sell records anymore...unfortunately.

The musicians and their fans aren't interested in protesting, because life really isn't all that bad for them. The situation isn't bad enough yet.

Protests and marches don't work any more. They are ignored by the right wing controlled media and by the government. Sorry.
