well KH, obviously if you're going offroading then you can't go with a sports car, no need to be an ***. This is more for people who say dont' use their SUV to carry 8 people at a time every week or two or who go camping. Not everyone uses it for what it is intended for.

Nicole you're right on. Us Americans are wasteful people who could give a rats a$# about the environment and how in ten years we're going to have beach from propery 10 miles inland. But we'll deal with that when we get there right?
Oh and ya a hybrid SUV what a novel idea (scheme) to keep these death machines on the road.
The US is so far behind in international emissions control and all we keep doing is making stronger, bigger and faster vehicles.

Think about it, seriously. People who have a family of 4-8, people who tow, people who live in the country or snowy places that need good 4X4, or people who have all of that need an SUV. They are actually safer than cars, have a lot of power to tow boats or trailers, have some of the best 4X4's to get themselves safely out of a very rocky, rainy, or snowy place, have enough space to carry a whole family and to go traveling, and they are safer than a car with a sturdier chassis, higher off the ground, and their design absorbs most of the impact energy before it gets to the middle of the SUV. Also, SUV's may have one of the highest rollover ratings, but there are few, and there are more progressive technology that when it senses a rollover, an electronically controlled system takes over and controls each brake and wheel to keep the car safely on the proper sides. Ford is, I think, the only one that has that technology.

Because you narrow minded butt head, this vehicle has three times the interior space of my other car,its safer, I live in a place where the nearest paved road is 17 miles away and I need the off road capability.I can carry 8 adults in it so it takes 2 other cars OFF the road.Do you nut job Libs ever look at the positive aspects of anything?

There are difference sizes of SUV's, so I'm sure they don't annoy the hell out of everyone. But now that the new hybrids are out, the gas mileage is so much better. As soon as I can afford one, I'm going for the hybrid. It's quiet, it's got good acceleration if you need it and the gas mileage is great.

Yes... but a lot of times they are safer. And you can get a hybrid, so they don't always use more gas. Great cargo space and a lot of seats- you can actually take more than four people at a time in your car! Wow!

Holds more cargo -- great for camping. Have better visibility -- can see more of what's going on in the road. More ground clearance so can be taken off road easier. Easier to get car seats/children in and out of.
