They don't. You're not listening.
ETA: I have read this question many times, and it has been answered many times, and always the same way. The reality is, the question is not worth listening to. The reality is, the answers are. You don't get it, you and those (male or female, doesn't matter) pea-brained psychotics who fantasize that the foundations of society are crumbling because each of us should have an equal voice in our lives. Feminism is a permanent fact of life. Stop whining and get over yourselves.
And as for the idea that "we're all equal in the eyes of God" - God has nothing to do with it. We should all be equal under the law. Yeah, that's a threatening concept, all right. I can see why you, who has nothing going for him except an accident of birth that he could not make the best of, would indeed be threatened.

Sigh. Again, we don't. Interestingly enough, when I ask questions about the "masculinist movement" I get very few responses, and the responses I do get are ridiculous. For instance, to the question "who are notable masculinists?" I got 3 answers, the first being "Hitler and Ghengis Khan" the second being Warren Farrel, and the third, by a woman, giving me detailed information on the major players. If you think you're not equal, join the movement meant to represent you; if you think we're getting more than you are, join a movement that represents your issues. Stop your whining, and stop asking questions that have been asked over and over simply because you want to discount a movement you clearly seem to have an interest in, judging by your enthusiastic participation in this forum. As you like to say to feminists, quit your complaining about how hard done by you are and do something productive to help with all the injustices you suffer as a male--apparently injustices that feminists have caused. Or perhaps you could try listening instead of looking for something, anything to attack simply because it relates to women and feminism.

Your only hearing what YOU want to hear. Feminists don't believe that only women deserve equal rights. We believe that we all deserve to be treated with respect. I believe that any person who can do a job, should be allowed to do it. And get paid equal salaries. Many employers believe that a man must be paid more for his work, even if a woman does equal work. The reasons employers believe that is because they feel that a man must care for his family. But, what of a single mother who gets less pay than a man doing g the same job, doesn't she need more money to care for her family as well?

I've never actually labelled myself as a feminist, so I suppose I don't really have the authority to answer this.
But I do believe everyone deserves equal rights to a point. Other Y!A users may judge me for this, but I don't consider everyone equal - I am better than a mass murderer, I should have more rights that him/her.
On that level, I suppose I don't want equality. I would say that I want equality for people who deserve it - a black woman who's just trying to live her life should have the same rights as a white man doing the same.

On which planet do you live? I love in earth. Your problem is that you want to go back in the day when women were just barefoot and pregnant doing the housework. I guess that you have never dated, let alone considering marrying someone who even knows something as little that Eiestin died in '55.

"Feminist" became popular in the 1980's to represent people striving for equality, but focusing on women, since women had a lot less opportunities than men at the time in the US, still have inequalities in the US, and still have less opportunities worldwide.
People who are concerned with issues that affect men primarily, can work with masculinist groups-why aren't you? Do you know anything about men's rights movements or masculinist movements? Have you worked with them on issues important to you?
If you want humanism, go for it, who is stopping you? If you care about male rights, who is stopping you from working on them? Why waste your time fighting feminism-why not go for want you want, instead of focusing on what feminists are doing?
Feminists can't be blamed because few men care enough about issues effecting them to do something about it. It's not our fault if men care so little that they are not willing to make a phone call, write their editor, or join a group and participate in it. Why don't you spend your time educating men instead of wasting it fighting with feminists and blaming them for the way men are being treated?

Are you implying that feminists are seeing a problem that really doesn't exist? That would be great if it were true, but unfortunately, there still is sexual inequality. Women are paid less than men, and aren't treated the same as men. That needs to change.

That is not accurate. They do not feel they are *the only ones* that deserve equal rights - just that they deserve equals rights *along with* everyone else. I think you may have misunderstood their agenda.
A Humanist is one who is concerned with the interests and welfare of humans in a general and collective aspect. This is not always in the political sense. Humanists can be concerned about starvation, world population, human wars, etc. Feminists however are similar to humanists, except they focus on the political aspects of human life - and the equality among everyone - including women. They follow the doctrine advocating social, political, and all other rights of women equal to those of men. I hope that helped. Cheers!

Is this the artist formerly known as Brad D?
Just curious.
And I don't think I'm the only one - I am golden rule gal when it comes to equality. Do unto others, well - you know the rest.
Meaning equality for all. But I won't hold my breath.
