It's good to have one credit card, but only to help build credit. Keep it locked away.

Do not use credit for expenses or frivolous spending -- it's very easy to let things get out of hand. Use cash only -- and ATM/check cards that can function like credit cards are ok, as long as you use them as debit cards only. With the regular credit card, use it once or twice per month for small, normal expenses, but then pay off the full amount when the bill comes -- do NOT carry a balance.

I'm a pretty smart cookie, but I got into major debt with credit cards. Please be careful.

some give you good options but just check how much you have to return cause if they give good offers they also do expect good returns and most of all do not use it on the net as someone who might have sent a virus may see the number and sell the number to someone else and u will have a tough time then so keep away the credit card as much as you can on the net and remember to read the documents as it may lead to profit or loss

Stay away from any by Chase. They will hike up your interest rate for any reason they so chose. Discover, Capitol One, and Citibank are better.
