Overall, I'm a tad disappointed. I remember watching the coverage and they were showing in some countires the people were cheering and laughing about it. That is sick. It doesn't matter how you feel about the countries in which the total strangers reside....there were many lives lost that day. People should have at least been sympathetic to that fact.

Seeing how many countries take a nuteral or the opposite stance of the US, it wasn't all that unifying if you ask me. They expressed their sympathy and that's about it.

Again, don't get fooled by media. At that time, what ever you saw in the media was to prepare you and others towards the future war. The palestinian people you are talking about in the TV were dancing and singing because they had won their national cricket game. They weren't even aware about the towers at that time. If you have any middle eastern friend, find out from them.

I thought that they were generally considered to be attacks, not disasters. I honestly can't remember much about the initial reactions

I think it truly was. Sad fact that goodwill and unity has been tossed into the garbage can by our current administration.
Imagine, we actually had muslim nations denouncing the strikes.
