One of the more curious is the biblical Beast which isn't supposedly an actual creature but a system of things.It may actually be about our own humanity or lack thereof during times of crisis and deep emotional strife.Our human or animal nature or psyche.

Our own curiousity of our creation,evolution or re-creation into pure spirituality and logic or otherwise known as; The Afterlife.

I would say the dragon, but I don't believe they are truly mythical. Also, as I lay and watch the clouds some days, I find one lazing through the sky.
