Please stop by your local chevy dealership.The service dept will fix this as good as new.There are a cable that needs lubed and adjusted to correct your shifter problem.This is a quick fix problem and will last a long time.Hope this helps.

i would definatly check that cable that would be the first place i would look then if nothing go to a transmission shop that offers free evaluations.
