Do you have to have boat insurance. If so how much would a bow rider style boat, 21 ft, fiberglass/composite hull, worth 5,995.00 cost? Will be using on the Mississippi and some lakes. What do some other people pay?

Whatever you get, make sure you're covered for fuel and oil spills, because the Coast Guard and the EPA can charge a ton for clean-up. Try BOAT/US for good coverage,

Lenders and marinas require insurance. If you do not have a loan or do not keep the boat in a marina, do not get in an accident.

You should at least have a $9 a month Liability coverage....Even on a row boat.

Call sea tow they will give yo a quoite aalso look up sea safe they are specific boat insurers

It's not a requirment in most areas. But common sense says, have insurance!! what if it sinks? or you get hit or hit another boat?
