I dont need advice or have a problem and im not bragging or complaining just asking a simple question..My husband and i have been happily married 16 yrs(no kids yet)have a decent and satisfying sex life making love 8-10 times a month and we are both satisfied and happy with that amount a month..I was just wondering in todays statics is that amount a month average or below average?

About average I would say... 2 to 3 times a week, times 4 weeks, equals 8 to 12....probably about average.....especially for 16 years of marriage.

Maybe you were both riding on your expectations before and then got hit with reality? It sounds like you may both have been so excited about having sex that it was enough to make it passionate but maybe you are now faced with technical difficulties? I was a virgin when I married and it took me a LONG time to get my sex life where it should have been in year 1. Virgin Christians have a lot of trouble talking about "dirty" things like sex. But the truth is that nothing that 2 people do behind closed doors that they both agree to is anybody else's judgment. I say talk openly and experiment. Buy books and read them together. If it doesn't feel good, don't do it. If it does, tell each other and no one else. Sex is sacred, private and a HUGE part of an intimate, loving relationship. It is a form of communication that requires other forms of communication. Work at it. You should never treat sex as something that comes "naturally" because it simply doesn't. It is something new to learn about yourself and your husband and it should not be left to the wayside because you have lost interest because neither of you is good at it!!! GET good at it! I can't begin to tell you what it can be when you get over your inhibitions and get on with it... If you do, it will become a shared ecstasy that binds you together. If you don't it will become the disappointment that will hold you apart.

That amount is average and most would be thrilled to say the same. Some married couples dont have sex 8-10 times a year so consider it a blessing.

I'd bet it's above average and I'd say hang on to that guy! Sounds like you have a winner. However, it's easier to have a happy and satisfying realtionship when there is just the two of you to focus on. When children enter the marriage, the demands are so great, your relationship can often become strained. That is not to say that you shouldn't have children. But when you do decide to have them, realize the relationship will change.. although it sounds like yours has a very strong and loving foundation, which will make for a very strong and loving family.

If 8-10 is total times that you and he both orgasm, then thats probably a good average, but that doesnt mean its enough.
So if your question is probed from him asking for more, there should not be a limit nor should you work from what the average is.

We have been together almost 10 years, married for 7, and we average at least 1 a day, maybe skip a day or two if its that time of the month, or maybe more than once or twice in a day if we are feeling frisky. We have no kids either.

You're averaging about 3 times as often as I am. I have been with my wife for 15 years and married for 11 of them.

I think you being married as long as you have than atleast 2 times a week is nice (I would assume it should be higher since you don't have any kids, but it is still okay)...I hope to meet someone again that I can be like that with forever (but oral is a must LOL)

If you are both happy and satisfied, then there is no need to worry about the national average on that. Nice to hear someone else is happy out there! :-)
