I really like my steam mop. They do a much better job and it's a lot easier than slopping around all that water. And your floors are cleaner. It takes a bit of time to get used to cleaning with steam. You need to learn to let the steam do the work and not try to "scrub" like we do with our mops. So if you have a spill or a stain, you need to put the steam mop on it and leave it there for a bit (like 30 seconds max) and the steam will loosen the dirt and the microfiber pad sucks it up. Buy it at a store that has a good return policy. Give it a couple, three weeks and if you don't like it, return it. That's what I did 3 years ago and the unit is still here. The first time you use it, mop the floor with your mop & bucket, let it dry. Then go over it with the steamer and see how much more dirt you get even after you thought the floor was clean. And you're using no chemicals, no hazardous materials, steam kills germs and the microfiber pads are washable and reusable.

Any big city with the iron grills on the sidewalk would be happy if you came by with your own bucket and helped yourself. Be sure and bring a tight-fitting lid.
