That would depend on which country you played for. If you played for a team where the entire country is into the sport. You'd probably be killed the next day by some angry spectator.
But if it was for like USA, no one would really know since such a small population of USA actually cares for futbol.
But I mean if someone like Beckham or Ronaldinho indeed missed a shot like that, they lose a terrible amount of face. However, you know the quality of those players, so even if it's almost an unforgivable mistake, sometimes you just gotta bite your tongue and hope for next year. Be optimistic.

I would leave the country! Cause even if I am a good player that's all that people will remember about me.

obviously i would be mad, upset, and hurt. but i also believe that whatever happens is meant to happen, it is what it is and you'll have to forget about it and move on. tell yourself it probably happened for a good reason and things like this are going to happen, it's ok! so just keep your head up, keep trying and something great will come out of all of it.
