id have to say yeah-- pretty much. If you look at his numbers there's really noone who can compare to him. Arod is hitting .313 with 34 HR and 99 RBI's. He also has 10 SB. His closest competetors I believe are Vlad Guerrero - hitting .321 with 14 HR and 78 RBI's. Maglio Ordonez- .359 with 15 HR and 81 RBI and 2 SB. Gary Sheffield- .303 with 23 HR and 65 RBI and 16 SB. Also Morneau and Sizemore are having good years. If you compare the numbers alone Arod dominates in HR and RBI. Has the second most SB of the players listed. Vlad nd Mags hit for higher AVG than Arod but .313 isn't anything to be upset about. Plus, look at the way the season's gone for the yankees- without arod this year- where would they be?
These stats are only as of July 23 and you can't really lock a guy yet, but if continues at this pace- I think that there's a great chance that he'll recieve his second MVP in pinstripes.

No. If the Yanks don't make a serious run and come into serious contention for the postseason he is going to lose a lot of votes to the writers who bang on him for not being able to get it done when it matters. If A-Rod hits 60 homers and the Yanks finish .500 then there is going to be a whole lot of folks saying he still didn't do it when it mattered and too bad he couldn't do this the last two years when the Yankees needed him to.
I think guys like Maggs and Ichiro who have their teams in contention are going to get some serious consideration if the Yanks don't soon close the gap.
I know they are playing better of late, but I want to see what happens the next time they go on an extended road trip. They seem to be able to beat everyone at home and lose to everyone on the road this year.

Yes A-Rod is!
34HRs, 99RBIs, 94 runs
thats better than most players in the league stats at the end of the season.
But if he gets a bad injury than no it's not locked.

No. If Magglio Ordonez wasn't putting up such great numbers yes. But Mags has got a higher average and if he keeps it up I think he will get it. His HRs are a little lower than A-Rods 34, to Mags 15. And Mags has 81 RBIs, tied for 3rd best in the bigs. But his .359 average compared to A-Rods .313 helps him. Plus the Tigers being in first really help. If the Yankees come back and win the division, then I think A-Rod deserves it, but until then, I'm going with Mags.

Without a doubt the guy has more 9th inning homeruns and game winning homerun/ hits then anyone in the majors. He has been mr. clutch and compare to what he did in 2005 when he did win the MVP, this year should be automatic

Not if the Yankees miss the playoffs.
I'd give it to Maglio Ordoniez or Ichiro first before ARod.
