Some people don't like to be nice. They will thumbs down everyone. Trolls will report any answer (good or bad) and will cause a thumbs down. Others are jealous that you may have the same or similar answer to theirs. Still, there are those that do it in spite.

Because people disagree with you but don't want to simply write an opposing view--or they thumbs down and then write the opposing view. Or they took offense to something you said. In a few cases, I've gotten a thumbs down when I knew I was accurate, because I'd been there, but there always those who want to be annoying. Sometimes people thumbs down every answer but their friend's.
Take your pick of any of these reasons.

Because there are so many haters out there. I don't give thumbs down. If I don't agree with the answer I just go past it. If I like it I give it a thumbs up.

Because people are jealous that you gave a good answer so they're trying to bring you down. Just like life whenever you do something well they are always going to be people trying to bring you down.
