Yes, it's Post Script.
Post means "after" and Script means "writing".
So, like the other poster said, it means something you forgot to include in the body of the letter.
People years ago were fastidious letter writers and wanted to keep everything in a logical order. Just writing something any old place looked messy and thoughtless. A "P.S." was considered a more thoughtful way of including missed information.
