Any tree that grows can have roots that destroy foundations. With cherry trees, you get an added bonus. Stains all over your house, car and anything else that is near the tree from birds eating them and leaving "deposits" in the area.

Yes, any tree can. Trees that tend to grow naturally in low land areas are highly attracted to water (like willows), and can go through your foundation.
