most of the movies in the horror genre now are just "shock flicks", and they do not impress me. I think the last one that really got to me was the first Alien movie. The suspense and build up of the characters was excellent, it was one of those that made you constantly think what you would do in the same situation.

I think the only horror movie that really scared me was Candyman, and I was like 12 when I saw it. But I couldn't walk by a mirror with the lights off for a long time, actually even now, I think about that when I see a mirror in the dark.

One of my all time faves is "The Haunting" with Julie Harris. It is in black and white, which I think adds to the overall scarieness of the movie. The remake was great special effects eye candy, but did not leave much to the imagination. The Changling is another one. The Birds and Psycho are two great Hitchcock scares...Psycho is based on Ed Gein, which sort of adds to the scare.

the Hellraiser movies for sure ... I can't think of anything scarier than Pinhead!

Also, I know the Freddy Kruger movies were campy, but I was a kid when I saw them so he still freaks me out!
Even just seeing Robert Englund without the make-up kinda freaks me lol!

Also, Friday the 13th and Halloween ... scary!

Its tough to pick one! But I will say Hellraiser 2.

Only the old horror movies really scare me, and it was more of a psychological scare then a boo type of scare. Rosemary's baby and the birds are two that still scare me to this day

I have to movies that really scared me. First one is "Wait Until Dark" w/ Audrey Hepburn. Excellent movie. And the first "Scream" scared the living daylights out of me. Hated all the other ones, but the first one was good.

I haven't seen a horror movie that really scared me but there are some with good plots and gore out there, you just have to look REALLY, REALLY hard.
