Should we keep working at advancement until we reach what we want to be?
Or
Should we stop trying so hard and accept who we are and then re-focus our energy toward our family?
If the later, at what age?

i think everything in life everything has a time. in my opinion if your career is important to you, then focus on it before you have a family and children, once you have children, i think your priority should be your children and your career should take a back burner, until they are older and require less attention from their parents. once your kids are older you can focus again on your career.

Work to live, don’t live to work. Family is far more important. Work hard and try to advance in your career but never make it your number 1 priority. That means that when the clock hits 5 you are out of there. If you can't advance without jeopardizing your family then either look for another job or be happy with what you have.

Around 50 is a good age to relax a bit, and concentrate on the better things in your life. You will have accomplished most of what you will in life by then usually.

stop trying hard, because for what? Why and who do you need to prove yourself to? Only God, and if you are neglecting your family, you are wrong for that one.
