Depends on what you want! ffperki is quite right about SATX. I personally don't like Dallas. Too busy, traffic is horrendous, but it is more trendy and upscale. San Antonio and the surrounding South Texas and Hill Country areas provide somethikng to do all the time with tremendous diversity. Each area with it's special flavor. German style festivals in New Braunfels and Anhault, Mexican Fiestas in San Antonio and of course the wonderful Texas Folklife Festival which combines it all. WHile Dallas has a town called Grapevine...it can't compare to the Hill Country wine festivals and tours.

Wherever you decide... just pick the one that suits your needs best and enjoy life.

others have suggested Austin, Houston, and for sure some one is going to say Dallas. You don't say how old you are and what you do for a living. Both of these would have a profound effect on your choice. Dallas and Houston are both very busy and upwardly mobile cities, and there is a lot of job opportunities in both of those cities. Austin is also very upwardly mobile, and I feel like it is more for a younger person as it is a very fast community. On the other hand San Antonio is a huge city but still maintains a small town atmosphere. Job opportunities are on the increase everyday and many of them are starting to pay quite well, in San Antonio we have a huge medical complex, we have a bunch of colleges, many financial institutions (upper level), the military complex, Toyota one of the largest production plants in the entire world and they are going to double it size. There are many amenities that make life great. Here are a few of them, Sea World, Six Flags, Ripley's believe it or not, the museums, Texas culture center, Alamo, missions, missions trail, botanical gardens, this list can go on and on but I think that you get the idea. The choice is yours, but San Antonio would make a great choice.

Personally I prefer San Antonio. The area is beautiful. The city is smaller and less crowded. Traffic is lighter. I love the rolling hills. There is a special feeling there. Dallas/Ft.Worth is just another big city. No ambiance.
