No one knows ..

.. even Einstein couldn't explain 'why' ..

It's a characteristic of MASS (don't forget = 90% of the MASS in the Universe is not observable EXCEPT by it's gravitational effect on the bits we can see i.e. Galaxies ..

Various theories have been proposed .. see Wikkipedia

[Several decades after the discovery of general relativity it was realized that it cannot be the complete theory of gravity because it is incompatible with quantum mechanics.[11] Later it was understood that it is possible to describe gravity in the framework of quantum field theory like the other fundamental forces. In this framework the attractive force of gravity arises due to exchange of virtual gravitons, in the same way as the electromagnetic force arises from exchange of virtual photons.[12][13] This reproduces general relativity in the classical limit. However, this approach fails at short distances of the order of the Planck length,[14] where a more complete theory of quantum gravity is required. Many believe the complete theory to be string theory ...]

You are actually defying gravity laws, Moving in a different direction that gravity wants to pull you. Hence the funny face on fast fair rides. Einstein didn't believe gravity was a force at all, where as Newton did believe it. Electomagnetism was first descibed as a force modelled on gravity, that being todays main view.

If someone says G force in terms of a car/plane/roller coaster. They mean acceleration, i.e. if you accelerate at 3 times the acceleration you experience due to gravity you have g-force 3.

Hmm...do you mean: What is gravity? or What is the term "G-force" pertaining to?

As you are walking along, the earth is exerting its gravitational pull on you in the form of your body weight...which keeps you stuck to the ground. "G-forces" refer to mulitples of the force exerted upon you. So if you are in an airplane and you are experiencing 2 "G's" of force, that means you are feeling twice your body weight. 3 "Gs" is three times your body weight and so on. The increased weight is due to additional forces acting on your own gravitational pull like centrifugal force if you're in an airplane or a washing machine or that Turkish Twist ride at the amusement park...

Because G is the force of gravity of the earth, it is 9.8m/s^2
The gravity of earth is the biggest force existant ever. And if there isn't force of gravity of earth , we might not be living here on earth. The force of gravity of the earth is located on the center of our planet and it is called CORE.

Basically, it has to do with gravity. The Earths' atmosphere and its' magnetic pull prevents us from floating away
