Probably would be a good way to start. Which career are you asking about? Good place would be to start is to look in your local yellow pages and see if you can find any local agents agencies in your area call them up and ask them what you would need to do to get started.

If you happen to browse the newspapers be extremely careful so your not sucked into a scam, cause the paper sometimes is where fraud people get innocent ones and thier money and never promise anything they say.

If you know any celebrities personally that is another good way to seek information about how they gotten thier start in the business that your interested in.

Where are you, how old are you , and what is your background as an actor? You may not need an agent so much as you need a mentor. I am a retired actor who mentors aspiring actors. Tony at Acting Career Start Up also will have lots of info for you. Write to me at kencosp@aol.com and I will help you out.
