I just moved into a new apartment and have started up a new phone/internet connection. Come to find out the materials sent to me ( phone cords) are to big to fit into the phone outlets in this house. Is there anyway I can buy an add on or do I just have to get them changed or buy new lines?

It sounds like you have confused Ethernet connectors with phone jack plugs. They do look similar, but they are deliberately made larger, so no one can mistakenly use them in the wrong way, hehehe.

What you should have, is a modem, and with the modem, should come a phone cord to run from it to the modem. The ethernet cords (also known as cat5) go from the modem to your computer.

If you are near a metropolitan area, you can search your local listings for a "Geek Squad", or computer store that will come out to your home, and get your comp all set up and ready for use.

Good Luck

I have never heard of that. There is usually (nowadays) an RJ jack that is wide enough for 4 wire plugs to fit into. Maybe you have a wider plug with a cable that is made for a two-line phone. The phone company that supplied the cord should be able to get you straight,

The others are right....sounds like ethernet connectors are what you are using....buy the appropriate jack and make sure it has a filter in it or your phone will go nuts

Those aren't phone cords. They are ethernet cords.
