Jelly fish have no control over what they do. Their mode of transportation is the current. They have no way to propel themselves. Their tentacles don't grab, when something touches the tentacles, microscopic barbs are spontaneously fired and they inject a neurotoxic poison into the victim. Keeping fish with them would lead to an injured jellyfish or dead fish.

No, jellyfish are not violent. BUT... they have a very dangerous and poisonous sting, and they are common and often difficult to see in the water. So if you are swimming in the ocean, you can easily swim into one or step on it, and get a vicious sting from one of its tentacles. Depending on the size of the jellyfish and the size of you and the location of the sting, what happens next can vary. It could just hurt a lot, which is what is most common. But if you are out a ways, you could drown or be killed.

Jellyfish have stinging cells in their tentacles which they use to capture their food. They aren't necessarily violent, they're just doing what they need to survive. They don't attack they prey, but if a fish or something touches a tentacle, it is stung, and more of the tentacle can wrap around it to deliver additional stings once it's stunned. Some are filter feeders and have reduced tentacles, and the freshwater jellies don't have a mechanism to sting.
At any rate, they're hard to keep alive if you're planning to add one to your aquarium. They do best in round tanks, and most have a very short life span.

they are blobs....they are not violent. I used to play with them all the time as a kid
some kinds of jellyfish have a touch that stings or burns when it hits you. It's usually the tenticles that hurt when you touch them. Some kinds are actually deadly to humans.

They are not violent in the way that they would attack you. If you get near one and touch the tentacles that hang down underneath them it will sting. Even near them sometimes there tentacles can break off and float in the water and it can sting pretty bad. Believe it or not, if you get stung, you can urinate on it to stop the stinging. By it I mean urinate on yourself not the jellyfish :)

jellyfish are not violent. the only reason they sting people is because they feel threatened or because they are protecting their territory.

they arnt violent, and they don't have "stingers". They have long strands of cells which inflict pain, unlike bumblees (which shoot a rod into you)
