Hasn't everyone heard this myth? Is it true or not? I'll probably go to sleep at 2 or 3 o'clock and wake up at 9 or 10. But when i go to sleep at 11 or 12, I would wake up at noon! Is it just because I'm a teenager or is the myth false?

Kuddoz to anyone who answers! =))

It's just a myth. Each person has a "biological clock" which tells them when to wake up, when to go to sleep, when to eat, etcetera. This clock varies from person to person and is varied by different factors such as sleeping disorders, eating disorders, bone problems, or muscle problems. I go to bed normally around 1-2 in the morning. I wake up around 7 or 8 in the morning. However, I only eat twice a day, mostly because it's all I'm hungry for.

I am also a teenager.

It just depends on your biological clock and your bodies needs.

For the past 13 months I have lived in an area with no electricity. Talk about getting back to basics! Once night comes and its soooo quiet I have a hard time not sleeping, so now am on the "early to bed, early to rise" routine :) LOVE IT, I now see sun rises and seem to start my day with the creatures surrounding us. Took a little time, since I am a night owl at heart. But now after so many months of it I seem to be intune to the hours we are meant to keep. (Just my HOpinion) I think this is no myth, just depends on your lifestyle. I take the early to bed part as going to bed when the sun does.

it's not a myth, it's a saying "Early to bed, early to rise make's a man healthy wealthy and wise. Yes every one has a biological clock but people, for the most part, need about 7-8 hours of sleep a day.

It seems like to me that the later I got to bed, the earlier I wake up. It's kinda weird

I may be wrong, but I believe it was Benjamin Franklin who said it in perhaps Poor Richard's Almanac. Hard work, proper rest, will not do a person ill in his quest for success. He seemed to do well for himself.

Sure farmers live by this rule in life. But in your case I'm just a mom here, my daughter would sleep her life away if I let her.
