I am Irish but I would imagine The Isle Of Man similar climate with a very low crime rate and no escape for those that break the Law and the Natives are a congenial bunch. I took Holidays there a few times up through the years and never had a bit of trouble of any kind not even a hint. If you were going we say from Douglas to Peel just put your thumb up and the first car to come along will give you a lift, Fact! Great Place.
PS Great Value For Your Money In Every Way Safe Place to Bring Up Kids.

Based on a series of indicators that show 'quality of life' in each country, the best place to live and hence, grow up in, is Ireland.
The UK is 29th by the way. But I also love London hehe.
(The USA is 13th)
The 9 key indicators by the way are: Material Wellbeing, Health, Political Stability and Security, Family Life, Community Life,Climate and Geography, Job Security, Political Freedom and finally, Gender Equality.

I would choose Tokyo Japan. The crime rate is pretty low, and my child would get a very good education. The United States still has so much racism and stereotypes it's just crazy. Also, I'm not all the way sure, but I think that Japan has universal healthcare for it's citizen's.

If the island called 'hell' there would be some raisin' to do!
London is expensive -
I'd like Italy - at least you get the alps, the food, the sun, the wine and great views whatever the weather. Milk the goats and walk the asses round the plains...and learn to say chow.

Any country with a good education system is probable cause for home calling. It depends on your language capabilities.

If I had kids. I would probably raise them in at least two different countries, that way they have a broader view of society, etc, they would be more cultured. Even though the US has about every race and culture you can think of, we often bother little to nothing to learn about them.
More than one country would be my choice. It would be up to them were they want to stay. :)

You shouldn't just consider which country, but also the areas within a country, because their overall rating may be excellent, but pretty dire in some particular areas of that country.

Switzerland!
where else?
Probably aesthetically ,the most beautiful place.
A highly civilized and cultured people.
Low crime rates.
Exceptional educational levels.
Cleanest place on earth.
England was that place once.
Then came New Labour.
Now we're a dustbin for the worlds rubbish.
