They usually show-off their shinies or level 100's and want nothing in return, thats why they know that mew level 9 and under is impossible to get.

Also if it is hacked, it won't let you trade it for another pokemon unless you deposit it for trade.

And ppl put up Shinys and stuff for Mew 9 and under b/c you can duplicate on GTS and to insure it work you must put up an impossible trade, trust me I've done it before
